Note from Chris Durnan, Communications Chair – I have compiled as much information as I can gather to make the day easier for our attending parents and students. This may be a long post, but a lot of information to assist you in getting tickets, having cash, the schedule, the Copper Thunder schedule and parking. It can be quite busy so preparation makes the day less stressful.
Also, please remember competition etiquette is during performances there is NO walking around the stands. The staff will usually block off stairs until the performance is over. There is a schedule link below. I would try seating yourself at least 30 minutes prior to the performance you wish to see if possible. This will give you time to get settled and make sure you have the best seat and help you to not be frustrated with the staff at the event. The performances face East. The goal is a distraction-free performance for all competitors and bands. Also, talking during the performances is frowned upon. It is the one time a parent/spectator can hear and see the performance of their musician in the stadium without a football game or other spectators talking which has phenomenal sound. We appreciate your respectfulness and kindness to others as we all represent the Copper Thunder and Cienega in our attendance. Marching Band Competitions do run on time or there are points deducted when a band is late.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers who continue to give their time and their support for all the student musicians.
***Please remember that tickets at the door are cash. Concessions inside are cashless. ***

Next up is parking. you can repurchase parking on honk for a garage at the u of a. The South Side Garage (SSG) is just across the street and a quick 5-minute walk. There are other options as well, but the parking garage is easy to get to and mostly out of the congested area of trucks, trailers and students. Cherry Garage tickets seem to have sold out according to a search of honk. https://parking.arizona.edu/parking/honk/

To shorten the time in the Jolesch Photo area following the performance, Jolesch Enterprises has developed a new procedure to streamline the gathering of information. This information allows parents and students to know when pictures can be ordered, and they will also receive discount codes during the year.
The following QR Code can be used to enter the information requested, and receive updates on how to purchase photos from the event.
Concessions are CASHLESS. Students will be allowed to travel to concessions for food and shirt purchases etc. in groups of 3. The Boosters will be providing Sandwiches as it fits in the timeline after coordinating the pickup of sandwiches for musicians. Please make sure students eat a healthy breakfast to start the day right and make it through the day.
Additional vendors will be available for the students to purchase memorabilia and clothing related to the event. There is an independent vendor who creates custom buttons for each school’s marching band, so it is encouraged that we support! Below is the markup of the button.
