MARCHING BAND KICK-OFF CAMP:
I hope you are getting excited about starting high school and joining the Copper Thunder Marching Band! It is hard to believe we are only ONE WEEK away from our May Kick-Off Camp! As a reminder, this 3-day, after-school event is a very important first step in your (or your child's) journey with the Copper Thunder. In this email you'll find the most important things you need to know regarding camp and the upcoming season.
1. Fill out before attending camp: This is our boosters'
new member information sheet. It asks a lot of questions about your medical history, emergency contact information, and allergy/dietary needs. This document is our equivalent of a physical.
We must have this submitted before you can take the field on Monday afternoon!
2. Dates & Agenda Reminders: Kick-Off Camp is Monday-Wednesday, May 20-22, 2024 from 4-7 pm.
Monday: Visuals & Marching 101 on the field
Tuesday: Music Fundamentals in sectionals/full ensemble/Guard technique block
Guard & Drumline auditions will occur over the course of Monday & Tuesday.
Wednesday: Team Building/THE FIRST ANNUAL COPPER THUNDER SIGNING DAY!
All families are invited and encouraged to attend the signing day portion of Kick-Off Camp happening at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 22. Each new member will be recognized and officially "sign on" as a member of the Copper Thunder.
3. What Do I Need to Bring? Come prepared to be outside all 3 days regardless of what is scheduled. Students should wear loose-fitting, cool clothing and closed-toe tennis shoes. Students should also be prepared with: Water bottle, sunscreen, hat, instrument, black folder/binder, and a pencil.
As always, if you have questions please do not hesitate to reach out! We look forward to seeing you all at camp and can't wait to get the season started!
