Director’s Update: Aug. 18-23, 2025
First, I want to thank all the parents that attended our first Saturday camp on August 17. Whether you were helping build props, taking care of kids that needed a cool-down under the tent, or setting up snacks, the amount of help we had this weekend made everything much smoother than we could have asked for. Your support of the student performers is crucial to our success every year and I feel fortunate that so many of you understand that and value their experience the same way the directors do!
Quick Reminders:
- As the season starts to get busier, please remind and encourage your student to stay up-to-date on the calendar/schedule each week and also to be checking the Slack Channel regularly for a detailed look at the weekly rehearsal plans.
- All CHS Bookstore fees were due last Friday, August 15th. If there are any outstanding fees, please speak with the bookstore about payment options.
Marching Band Schedule for the Week:
Monday- 0 hour rehearsal, evening rehearsal: 6-9 pm.
Tuesday- 0 hour rehearsal
Wednesday- 0 hour rehearsal (inside, music only)
Thursday- 0 hour rehearsal, after-school sectionals (4-6 pm)
Friday- no scheduled events
Saturday- Saturday Camp #2 (8 am- Noon)
- There has been a little confusion on the timing of Saturday camps. They are all originally scheduled to end at 2:00 pm. However, when at all possible we try to plan for half-days only. Given how far along we are already this season and how fast the band has been working, we are comfortable scheduling this Saturday’s camp to dismiss at noon again.
- We also like to plan fun group activities for after dismissal on occasional camp days. These are never mandatory, but always encouraged.
