Director’s Update: Aug. 5-10, 2024

Happy Sunday! Here are some general reminders/information and a glance at this week's agenda:

• All students should have access to Slack by now, regardless of which ensembles they perform in.
• Marching band students: The activity/class fee for 0 hour is due to the bookstore by Friday, August 16 at 3:45 pm.
  • Students who have not paid the bookstore fees are not eligible for Copper/Navy.
• All parents are encouraged to attend Booster Organization meetings. The meeting scheduled for this Thursday will be moved due to a fundraiser opportunity for board members. Please be on the look out for the new date in the next coming days.
• As we are scheduled to start Power-Up this week, we'll be putting information out to students regarding small ensemble opportunities. Some will be auditioned groups, others will be grouped based on interest. If your child is interested in participating/auditioning for one, please ask them to reach out to us:
  • Orchestra students should speak with Mr. Koenig
  • Wind players should speak with Mr. Bailey
  • Percussion players should speak with Mr. Vega.

Monday (0)- music review in full band

Monday (6-9 pm)- music & visual review (pending weather)

Tuesday (0)- visual rehearsal: moving & playing

Tuesday (3:45-5)- Open Band Room

Wednesday (0)- Music rehearsal

Thursday (0)- visual rehearsal

Thursday (4-6 pm)- sectionals

Friday- No events scheduled

Saturday- DCI Championships Viewing Party!

• Bring your own snacks & drinks
• Band room will open at 5 pm
• Championship stream begins at 5:30 pm
• Optional, but highly encouraged
