Director’s Update: Kick-Off Camp TOMORROW!
Hello Bobcat Band Families!
I hope you and your student(s) are all getting as excited for this upcoming season as the directors and staff are! As we prepare for KICK-OFF CAMP this week, I wanted to send out a few reminders and helpful tips for those of you that are joining us for the first time.
1- Remember to read up on all previous communications regarding what your child needs to bring for camp days. We’ll start inside tomorrow, but we definitely need to start making a habit out of dressing for the summer season. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat!
2- If your child is marching an instrument that they already own, they’ll need to bring that too. Percussionists should bring mallets and sticks. Here is a list of what we provide for marching band instruments: mellophones (french horn players), baritones, sousaphones (tubas), baritone saxophones, all percussion instruments, and all guard equipment. If your child needs to use a school-owned instrument next season that is not on this list, please contact me or Mr. Koenig soon.
3- Snacks are being provided by the band boosters on Monday and Tuesday. Please remind your child to eat something when they arrive so they have the energy to get through the rehearsals.
4- If you are dropping a student off at Cienega, WARNING: The parking lot and Mary Ann Cleveland Way are going to be chaotic. Please plan accordingly. I have attached a flow map for those dropping incoming freshmen off. Please follow the green arrow, drop your child off at the northeast corner of the parking lot by the bus bay and stadium, and exit on the stadium side of the lot. Your child will be directed to the back doors of the band room upon arrival.
We are super excited to welcome your Bobcat and family into the Copper Thunder Marching Band! These next two days are crucial to starting that journey the right way. If you have any questions or concerns regarding kick-off camp, full camp in July, or the season please refer back to our CTMB 2025 One-Pager and contact me for further assistance.
See you all tomorrow!
