Director’s Update: Sept. 15-20, 2025

Happy Homecoming Week! Also, for our marching band people: Happy First Show Week!

Announcements for all:

• Fall Concert (Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Navy Blues’ Jazz) is Tuesday, October 14th @ Cienega’s Student Union! Concert starts at 6:30 pm!
• Fall Program Fundraiser (through Victory Fundraising) will run October 22-November 2nd. We are selling cookie dough!
• If you know, or are, and alum of the Copper Thunder Marching Band, please invite them back to play with us in the stands at Friday night’s Homecoming game vs. Nogales.

Marching Band Weekly Reminders/Agenda:

Signing Students Out at Competitions or Away Games: For everyone’s safety, this must be done from the bus after the game/competition is complete. Please do not ask your student to meet you somewhere; we will not release them from the group until a parent/guardian has signed them out from their assigned bus. Specifically for competitions: All students are required to stay through score announcements/awards at the end of the show (N/A for Casa Grande due to no scores). Celebrating our band and other bands and understanding how we are scored and judged is an important part of our season-long process and each student needs to experience this with the group. Exceptions to this are limited and must be requested by a parent in advance. No exceptions will be made on show days.

• Monday: 0 hour; NO EVENING REHEARSAL DUE TO CHOIR CONCERT
• Tuesday: 0 hour; Evening rehearsal moved to this day (5:30-9:00 pm)
• Wednesday: 0 hour (inside); open band room until 5:00 pm
• Thursday: 0 hour; Sectionals (4:00-6:00 pm)
• Friday: HOMECOMING ASSEMBLY & GAME! We will be performing pre-game rather than half-time this week
  • ASSEMBLY: 8:00 am call time (CHS Students Only)
    • THIS year’s band shirt, jeans, closed-toe shoes
  • GAME:
    • Call time: 5:00 pm
    • Warm-up begins (in-uniform): 5:30 pm
    • Move to field: 6:15 pm
    • When the Dust Settles: 6:38 pm
      • National Anthem will follow from the field
    • Kick-off: 7:00 pm
    • Est. end of game/dismissal: 10:00 pm
• Saturday: AzMBA Eval+ Show @ Casa Grande Union HS
