New Board Bios

President:  Kiki Ngo:  My name is Kiki Ngo.  I currently have two children in the Band Program.  An is going to be a senior and Minh is going to be a Sophomore. I have served in the Band Program since 2004.  I was the volunteer coordinator for Band for a few years, Freshman parent, uniform chair, vice-president, and part of the fundraising committee. I love to volunteer at the various band functions to provide support for the students and staff.

Vice-President Candidate: Elizabeth Dickey:  A stay at home mom to four kids, one former band student, two current band students and a middle school band student, I have been a dedicated member of this program for five years.  My experience in working with this program includes serving on the Board as the Freshman/New Student parent and more recently as Secretary. I have been the volunteer Uniform Committee Chair for four years, and will continue to act in this role for the upcoming school year.  There has not been an activity in this program that my family and I have not participated in. I enjoy being an active member of this parent organization and cannot wait for the next school year. I am excited to watch the program flourish under a new band director while ensuring the dignity and respect of the past remain intact.  I love these kids and the band family that I am so proud to be a part of. I look forward to maintaining the ties that have been created within this program and eagerly await making memories with our incoming members and their families.

Secretary Candidate: Jennifer Bell:  A two-year member of the CHS Music Boosters, I am seeking the position of Secretary for the 2020-2021 school year.  My service experience includes the Cottonwood Elementary PTSA as Membership Chair, Spring Carnival Chair, Treasurer, and President (2007-2015) as well as the CHS Choir Boosters Secretary (2017-2018).  Within this program, I have participated with Band Camp, Sno-Cones, Concessions, Vail Pride Day, and other needs as necessary. I am appreciative of the time I have spent working with this program and its parent and student members and I look forward to sharing my experience as the program moves forward.

Treasurer Candidate: Johnathan Popp:  A fifteen year member of the Vail community and resident of Rita Ranch, I have been professionally employed as a Firefighter Paramedic for the Fry Fire District in Sierra Vista for 20 years.  I am a proud parent of an upcoming Junior who plays the flute. My experience includes Cottonwood Elementary School Site Council, active member of the relevant PTAs for seven years, and proud to be an active member and volunteer of this Booster organization in whatever capacity there is a need.

Guard Parent Candidate: Tania Santana:  I have been a Copper Thunder Marching Band parent for the past four years.  My volunteer experience in this program includes band camps, football game needs, snow cones, concessions, social media communications.  It has been my pleasure to work with these caring band parents, board members, and remarkably talented students that make up the CTMB. Our Color Guard has grown and improved tremendously this year and it would be my pleasure to continue supporting their growth as the Guard Parent for the school year 2020- 2021.  Although it is a small group of students who make up the Color Guard, their needs differ from those of the musicians and am happy to be there to understand their needs and concerns and to share this information with the board. I am excited to watch this portion of the program flourish!

Orchestra Parent Candidate: Vickie Jones:  Professionally, I am retired from the United States Air Force and currently am employed as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant at a local charter school.  A seventeen year resident of Vail, my experience in the local orchestra programs includes Senita Valley Elementary School, Rincon Vista Middle School, and Vail Youth Symphony.  I have been an active participant and volunteer with the CHS Music program for the past several years. I am excited to support the orchestra program and Mr. Knox as he continues to develop the program and the musicians.

New Member Parent Candidate: Jennifer Spears:  A wearer of many hats, professionally I lead Executive Communications for the Collaboration Technology Group at Cisco helping share the Webex message. When I’m away from the office, I’m actively volunteering in my community as an elected Fire District Governing Board Member for Rincon Valley Fire District, Fundraising Chair for the Cienega High School Marching Band and the Old Vail Middle School Cheer Squad. I’m looking to expand my support of the Cienega High School Marching Band in this role by helping incoming Freshmen and new band parents learn about and become actively engaged with the program. My daughter, Taylor, will be a sophomore during the 2020/2021 school year and is in both Marching Band and Orchestra.
