Marching Band

"Happy State Championships week! The Copper Thunder Marching Band will be traveling to Campo Verde HS in Gilbert, AZ this Saturday, 11/13 to perform in the AzMBA 3A State Championships. We are performing once at 3:00 pm and will stay for the rest of the competition as afterwards, every band (the full band!) participates in the awards ceremony on field. After awards, we will travel back to Vail and anticipate a late arrival time (ETA: ~1:00 am). The itinerary for this trip will be passed out tomorrow (11/9) during zero hour."

"Finally, we are excited to kickoff our first basketball pep band starting next week (Thur., 11/18). This will be open to all students (marching and non-marching) and will take place from November-April. Students have received info on this today, and will continue to receive info as we wrap up the competitive marching season."

Concert Ensembles

"Our concert ensembles also have been hard at work. On Mon., 10/18 we held the first part of our Fall instrumental music showcase featuring the 2nd Period Symphonic Band and 4th Period Orchestra. The second part of the showcase featuring the 1st Period Concert Band and 3rd Period Jazz Band is a week from today (Mon., 11/15)! These students have been hard at work perfecting some great repertoire and will finalize their performance readiness at our dress rehearsal this Wed., 11/10 from 4-5:30pm. We look forward to your continued support of these students either in-person or via the live stream. "

"Competition-wise, our Orchestra continued their tradition of participating in the annual ABODA Fall Orchestra Festival at Tucson HS on Fri., 10/22 and received Excellent ratings across the board. This group of students worked really hard and enjoyed a great performance along with critique that will serve us well moving forward. Our Symphonic Band will participate in the ABODA Fall Band Festival at Chandler-Gilbert Community College for the first time in many years on Sat., 12/4. How exciting!!"
